Thanks to our university's AStA, ESN Saarbrücken is nominated for the German Prize for Civic Engagement 2021 after winning the AStA Beste-Preis last year.
The German Prize for Civic Engagement is the umbrella prize for all civic engagement in Germany. Every year, prize winners of other engagement prizes in Germany can be nominated. In doing so, the German Commitment Award honours the voluntary commitment of people in our country and all those who support this commitment by awarding prizes.
The nomination is worthwhile: a prize money of 5,000 euros each awaits the winners of the five categories Creating Opportunities, Preserving Life, Connecting Generations, Overcoming Borders, and Strengthening Democracy. A jury of experts chooses the winners of these categories. In autumn 2021, citizens will vote online for the public prize which is endowed with 10,000 euros.
We are glad to do our part within the category of "Overcoming Borders" and are looking forward to the competition's finale later this year.
Wish us luck!
